Update on this Morning's Post: Making it worse: Mr. Baker’s Denial

Making it worse:  Mr. Baker’s Denial

In an interview with NECN.com, Mr. Baker made matters worse when he said, "I have no idea, nor should I have any idea what fund General Catalyst chooses to use when it makes a decision, when IT makes a decision to invest in a particular company.[1]"

It is hard to believe that General Catalyst didn’t consult Mr. Baker on prospective investments.  He had domain expertise, so it was incumbent on the firm to get his view.

Politics, however, is forcing Mr. Baker to distance himself.  In distancing himself, Mr. Baker isn’t going to be credible to anyone who understands investments.
